Luz Conti is full Professor of Greek Philology at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Her academic career, developed between Spain and Germany, has thus far focused primarily on the synchronic, diachronic, and comparative analysis of the syntax and pragmatics of Ancient Greek. A Humboldt Fellow in 2007–2008, 2012, 2018, and 2025, she has been engaged for years in the study of the relationship between the use of indirect speech acts and the expression of (im)politeness in Ancient Greek.

Since 2012, she has been a member of the board of the Indogermanische Gesellschaft, representing Spain. Since April 2019, she has served as Director of the Research Institute for the Sciences of Antiquity at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
